Dear folks at Indigo Ranch,
Thank you again for taking such great care of our dog Molly. On the way home from picking her up after her latest stay with you, Gary and I talked about how comforting it is to find a place we trust with our “only child.” I know she has a great time there because as soon as we get within a quarter mile of the ranch, her tail starts wagging and she gives her excited little “Oh boy!” whine that she only uses when we take her to the off-leash park. At first we were hesitant to make the trip out to Vernonia. We live in Beaverton and it’s a 45-minute drive to your place – but we soon realized the extra trip is well worth it. We looked at a few boarding kennels closer to us, but the only things they offered were enclosed cement-and-chain-link-fence runs. They did not offer the freedom you provide for your boarders. The fact that Molly can be free to go in or out of the house when she wants and then snuggle into a big chair or sofa gives us the sense that she’s really staying at someone’s home rather than at some kennel. She’s a bit spoiled at home, I have to admit; and I know you provide her the same loving care we give her. We miss her when we’re away, but knowing she’s safe, happy, and so well cared for in our absence makes our trips more enjoyable. Please feel free to give folks our phone number if they ever have any questions. We are so happy we found you. I can’t even imagine leaving Molly with anyone else!

I would happily recommend Indigo Ranch to any of my friends, because we truly feel it is a good place, and we wholly support the inclusive way that you are running the Rescue, and bringing in income too. If location is an issue, I would like to stress that the dog bus is fun, but also when I came out there to visit, I really enjoyed the drive out, it was so pretty. And I chose Vernonia over a dog sitting place in town, for the very reason that I think the country is a more peaceful and relaxing environment than the city. Our dog loves Indigo Ranch. We take our dog there each time that we go on vacation because it feels like a home environment. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love the dogs on an individual basis, taking time to get to know the dogs and to play with them daily. In particular, we like the fact that the dogs do not get crated at night, being allowed to sleep in the doggy dorm with supervision. Each dog gets companionship and exercise, just like being at home. I can’t speak highly enough of the place, and suggest that you give it a try next time you need to board your dog. Both pet and owner will have a wonderful experience in a unique setting. Thank you, Indigo Ranch.

I will never board my dogs any other way than is done at the great facility run by Indigo Rescue! A few years ago I was looking for an alternative to kennel boarding and found no options in my home area on the north coast. Having donated money to Indigo Rescue in the past, I discovered their beautiful ranch in Vernonia where they do pack boarding. I have never since then felt at all guilty about leaving my dogs (spoiled as they are) with the lovely folks there—I truly believe my dogs may have more fun than I have on vacation! Its location in the country setting with caretakers who are very knowledgeable and friendly is unbeatable. And given that most of our vacations center around flying out of Portland, the side trip to Vernonia to drop them off and pick them up is not really an inconvenience. To be honest, though, I would drive an hour out of my way to have my dogs stay at the ranch. It is really the best way to board my dogs. They return to me exhausted (from fun!) and better behaved from the pack experience. A true value worth the peace of mind it gives me knowing my dogs are in a safe, cageless “doggie hotel”!

I’ve been boarding my two dogs at Indigo Ranch for almost 2 years now. My dogs are crate trained but I choose Indigo because my dogs love it there and knowing that they are running, having fun and being loved on by the caring staff makes me enjoy my vacation that much more. My two girls are not the easiest cases either. As rescue dogs they can be skittish or sometimes reactive. The indigo staff has always worked with my dogs and now they feel like the ranch is their second home. We’ve also made the drive out to Vernonia part of our travel routine. As things start to get hectic before a big trip I begin looking forward to the beautiful drive out to the country. By now my dogs know the road to the ranch and begin getting excited when we leave the city limits on Highway 26 and I’ve come to love the peaceful drive that marks the official start to my vacations.
